Discoveries Interview: Professor Roman Zubarev on the revolution in polypeptide sequencing

Roman Zubarev, PhD, is a professor of medical proteomics in the Division of Chemistry I, and the Head of the Medical Biochemistry & Biophysics at at KAROLINSKA Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. Professor Zubarev is well known for the development of the fragmentation technique of electron capture dissociation with professor Neil Kelleher (while in Fred McLafferty’s laboratory at Cornell University). He received several important prizes, including the 2007 Biemann Medal for the discovery of the electron capture dissociation for MS.
